As a photographic artist I have dedicated my life to venturing into remote corners of the natural world capturing moments where Earth’s pristine nature and delicate intricacy converge. Many of my backcountry experiences have been interpreted through the medium of photography into artworks that transcend documentation and enter the realm of emotional and conceptual expression.
After over four decades working across 78 countries on commissioned projects for global corporations and advertising clients I’ve defined a visual dialog that now represents my personal artistic practice. My creative process draws from both analog film and digital photography traditions, embracing multiple formats and techniques to reveal subtle textures, colors, and patterns often barely perceptible to the naked eye. Biography

In the mid 1800's my great-grandparents immigrated from Norway and Sweden to homestead a successful farm in central Idaho. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I grew up exploring the vast diversity of beautiful outdoor venues that were always easily accessible. I was a self-taught landscape photographer before becoming a full time corporate and advertising commercial photographer based in Denver Colorado and then in Houston Texas.

Upon graduating from the University of Idaho I briefly relocated to Denver Colorado and soon took a major photographic career step by moving to Houston Texas for a full time position with an advertising photography studio. I was at the right place at the right time and quickly gained experience in the realm of large team international campaign focused advertising and corporate photography. During my 20 years in Houston I photographed commissioned assignments in 78 countries for multinational Fortune 500 clients.

Relocating back to Colorado I resided in Boulder for a few years then moved back to the Pacific Northwest and currently reside in Bandon Oregon. There is astounding elemental beauty on our planet and my travels around the world and love for backcountry explorations are a constant inspiration for creating photographic artworks.
